Representative of the Supreme Office for the Republic of Srpska Public Sector Auditing dr Bojan Ćurić – senior auditor for financial audit, attended the seminar and the third annual meeting of the EUROSAI TFMA for the audit of the municipalities in Lisbon (Portugal).
The seminar was attended by representatives from 27 supreme audit institutions: Portugal, Georgia, Poland, Republic of Srpska, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Malta, Montenegro, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Spain, Turkey, Albania and Ukraine, discussed experiences on municipal functions and specific functions delegated by the central government, the process of decentralization, as well as the work of SAI in the area of auditing local government functions.
In addition to the seminars, an annual meeting was held to discuss the plan of implementation of the three strategic objectives of the Work Plan of this EUROSAI Working Group for the period 2019-2020. The participants were presented with the results of a survey on the use of municipal data, the collection of data on municipal own revenues, and the development of a database of municipal master data. The possibility of conducting coordinated audits as well as other strategic issues was also discussed.
Bearing in mind the importance of municipal auditing, with a view to further developing the audit methodology, sharing best practices and experiences, international importance and contributing to the improvement of the municipal auditing system, the Supreme Office for the Republic of Srpska Public Sector Auditing is in 2016 he became a member of this working group.
