Dr Bojan Ćurić, Senior Financial Audit Auditor at the Supreme Audit Institution of the Republika Srpska, attended the seminar entitled “Own-Source revenues of Local Governments (Financial Autonomy) – between untapped potential and dependence on transfers from the State Budget” and the 10th Annual Meeting of the EUROSAI WGMA Working Group on the Audit of Municipalities, held in Bucharest, Romania, from 22 to 24 September 2026.
The seminar was attended by more than 70 participants and experts from 22 countries, including Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Poland, Slovenia, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Greece, Ukraine, Hungary, Italy, Bulgaria, Georgia, Montenegro and Moldova, among others.
The discussions focused on audit activities related to the own-source revenues of local governments. Key challenges, audit findings and recommendations in this area were presented, followed by discussions and an exchange of experiences among the participants.
During the 10th Anniversary Annual Meeting of the EUROSAI WGMA Working Group, the Working Group’s achievements over the past decade were presented. The activities and results of the Working Group in 2026 were reviewed, together with its future plans and activities for 2027.
