FROM STRATEGIC VISION TO OPERATIONAL ACTION: A NEW MODEL OF COOPERATION BETWEEN SUPREME AUDIT INSTITUTIONS

Belgrade, March 20, 2026 – By signing a new Agreement on Professional Cooperation between the State Audit Institution of the Republic of Serbia and the Supreme Audit Office of the Republic of Srpska Public Sector, cooperation between the two supreme audit institutions has been elevated to a higher, operational level. In addition to the traditional exchange of experience, the focus has been placed on joint action in safeguarding the public interest.

The agreement provides for the planning and implementation of parallel performance audits, the practical application of the ISSAI framework of auditing standards of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), as well as other relevant professional regulations. It also includes the joint organization of scientific and professional conferences, seminars, exchange of experience, specialized training programs, and the sharing of knowledge and expertise in the field of information technology.

A key innovation of this Agreement is its operationalization. Immediately upon signing, teams of experts from both institutions will be designated to assume specific obligations and responsibility for the implementation of the agreed activities.

“This agreement is not merely a formal act, but a commitment of our institutions to enhance the quality of auditing through joint work and the full engagement of all employees. By appointing specific activity holders, we will ensure that every provision of the Agreement is translated into practical application, for the benefit of citizens,” it was emphasized during the meeting.

Through this act, the institutions reaffirm their determination to adopt a proactive approach and to leverage the synergy of their professional capacities in order to strengthen transparency and accountability in the use of public funds.
