From October 14 to 16, 2025, under the patronage of the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands and the Ministry of Finance of Slovenia, and organized by the Center of Excellence in Finance, a training session was held on the topic “Integrity, Ethics, and Accountability in Audit.”

This educational event focused on strengthening the role of auditors in promoting integrity, ethics, and accountability within public institutions. Participants had the opportunity to explore how audit functions can be leveraged to enhance ethical standards, integrity, and accountability, with an emphasis on real-world challenges and solutions.

Regional experiences in the field of integrity, ethics, and accountability in audit – specifically the practices of the Supreme Audit Office of the Republic of Srpska Public Sector – were presented by Dijana Kremenović, performance auditor. Her presentation focused on understanding the role of audit in promoting integrity and ethical behavior, as well as identifying risks that stand in the way of ensuring integrity, ethics and responsibility through practical examples..

Frank Schuiten, operational audit manager at the Central Government Audit Service of the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands, spoke about accountability in auditing. Tina Toman Pfajfar, associate fellow at CEF, highlighted the role of internal audit in promoting ethical behavior, while Victor Lipet, an independent expert and psychologist from Moldova commented on resolving ethical scenarios in planning and executing an audit.
